I ordered the new struts (or are they shocks?) anyway, soon my truck will no longer have a bounce to it.

For clarification
Strut: Includes shock absorber and a spring, usually under pressure.
Shock(absorber): does obvious damping stuff and things and has no rebound ability

You probably ordered shocks. Those wear out, springs are unlikely to.
